Apply for planning permission

If you are planning on carrying out building work you may need planning permission.

Read our advice on major developments if you are planning a large development.

Please be aware that you may also need to apply for a Building Warrant.

Work that may not need permission

If you are only making small alterations you may not need permission. Our helpdesk service is unable to provide a formal determination on whether work will need planning permission. This can be obtained by submitting an application for a certificate of lawfulness.

Planning privacy notice

Our planning privacy notice sets out what happens to comments submitted as part of the planning process. For planning applications, your
